Known for luminescent seascape painting on linen and canvas, Edward Barton is entirely self-taught as an artist. He was born on June 24,1926 in New York and made his home in California.
He is a member of the American Institute of Fine Arts, California and listed in American Artists of Renown. His painting Sinking of Atlantis is being exhibited around the world and his work can be found in private and corporate collections.
He was an entirely self-taught artist who was known primarily for his paintings of dramatic seascapes. During the last 35 years of his life, he lived and worked in La Jolla, California; Houston, Texas; and Muscle Shoals, Alabama. His work was featured in the December 1976 issue of Southwest Art magazine.
